Who is Global GM Imports?

We’re not traditional car dealers. We work for you, helping you find autochecked vehicles that match your requirements and budget, including damaged and repairable vehicles where required.

Do You Hold Stock in the UK or Japan?
We don’t operate as traditional car dealers or maintain large vehicle stock. Instead, we search Japanese auctions and carefully select vehicles that match your requirements, giving you access to a much wider choice.
Every vehicle can be autochecked using its auction information, helping you understand its condition, mileage and history before purchase. We can also source damaged or repairable vehicles and assist with arranging repairs where required.
This approach keeps our selection independent, transparent and focused on finding the right vehicle for you.
Who Owns the Cars on Your Stock List?
Vehicles shown on our stock list are owned by established Japanese vehicle export companies and are available for purchase and export from Japan.

How Much Can You Save?
Depending on the vehicle, specification and auction price, you could potentially save thousands compared with UK retail prices. By sourcing directly from Japanese auctions, we give you the opportunity to cherry-pick the right vehicle at a competitive price, making Japanese imports a genuine win-win.
How Do We Pay for the Car?
We keep the payment process simple and transparent, with three main payments throughout the import journey:
1. Auction Bid Deposit
A refundable deposit is paid when you appoint Global GM Imports. It confirms your intention to purchase and is only committed once your vehicle is successfully secured.
2. FOB Vehicle Cost
Once your vehicle is secured, you’ll receive an invoice covering the FOB (Free on Board) cost. This includes the vehicle purchase price and the necessary Japanese export, handling and transportation costs to get the vehicle loaded onto the ship.
3. UK Arrival Costs
When your vehicle arrives at the UK port, the customs clearance agent will invoice you for applicable shipping, import duty, VAT and clearance charges. Once customs clearance is completed, the vehicle can be collected or moved forward for the next stage of the UK process.
